HOW TO REMOVE PASSWORD FROM PASSWORD PROTECTED PDF

  1. Click on the Lock icon on the left side of the PDF to open the Security Settings and click on Permission Details in blue:

  1. In the next window, click on the the Security Method drop down and select No Security:

*at this step some documents will prompt you to enter the password again. If the one that allowed you to open the document doesn’t work, then they have additional encryption on the document so the password protection can’t be removed.

  1. Another window will pop up asking if you’re sure you want to remove the security, click OK.

  1. Close out the Document Properties window by also clicking OK.

  1. Save the PDF.
