Teams – How to Fix Common Issues
This KB is for simple MS Teams troubleshooting steps.
Below is how to quit Teams. Quitting and restating Teams will usually resolve all the issues listed below unless there is an MS Teams Outage.
This is going to be the 1st step and will usually fix any of the Teams issues below.
Click the up arrow for the task tray in the bottom right corner of your desktop:
Next right click the Teams icon in the Task Tray, highlighted in blue.
After Right Clicking the Teams icon, left click on quit then reopen Teams.
If you experience any of the issues below. Quitting Teams in the above step will usually fix the issue.
Dial Pad Missing:
From time to time the dial pad to dial externally will disappear on the calls tab. Usually this is due to the MS Teams Window not being maximized, sometimes it just happens.
Not Receiving Messages:
Usually Internet Connection related but quitting and restarting Teams will usually resolve this issue
Not Being Able to Send Messages:
Messages failing to send; most common cause is Internet Connection or an MS Teams outage.
Status Unknown or Cannot Change Status & **Also, Checking Teams for Updates is highly recommended**
Click your initials or picture at the top of teams and the menu options below will be presented. Left click check for updates.
